Journalism

One of the highlighted criticisms from Hutton’s report to the BBC was that the report was substantiated by one single source. The attack to the politicians in these conditions is strongly criticized.
My doubt is this: As the news about the weapons of mass destruction had only a single source – the government – should the BBC have refused the broadcasting?

Meanwhile, the British government knew since
May that there were not WMD. Kelly died in July.
We should ask ourselves why did this all happen and remind that during the actual war BBC was strongly criticized by the government for its [impartial] coverage.
Maybe the aim of this entire row was the removal of an independent BBC director.
